The LHS Difference

"Precision is not an option; it is the baseline. In infrastructure, the margin for error is measured in lives, not just currency. We design for the centuries, not the quarters."

Safety Engineering
Technically Robust and Defensible Under Scrutiny

Engineering projects involve complex technical systems where failures in design, installation or operational procedures can create significant safety risks. LHS helps organisations ensure their safety systems are not only compliant on paper but operationally robust, contractor-ready and defensible during audit, incident review or regulatory scrutiny. We work with asset owners, contractors and their legal teams across complex infrastructure, industrial environments and mission-critical facilities — helping manage risk and threat levels across the full lifecycle of an asset.

Safety in Design

Many operational risks originate during design. Engineering decisions made early in a project determine whether systems can be safely installed, tested, maintained and operated. We support project teams with safety-in-design reviews, hazard identification, system interface analysis and the integration of safety requirements into technical specifications — ensuring designs support safe delivery and long-term operation.

Construction & Commissioning Safety

During construction and commissioning, systems are partially completed, multiple contractors are working simultaneously and operational risks are at their highest. We develop installation safety procedures, contractor coordination frameworks, permit-to-work processes, commissioning risk assessments and operational readiness reviews — ensuring safety controls remain effective through the most complex delivery phases.

Operational Safety Systems

Once assets enter operation, safety depends on the clarity and practicality of what's in place. We develop and review engineering safety policies, permit-to-work systems, isolation procedures, high-risk work management and operational safety audits — focused on making sure procedures are technically correct, practical for operators and consistently implemented.

Expert Witness & Incident Support

We provide independent technical expertise for legal proceedings, insurance investigations, regulatory reviews and major incident analysis. Our work involves reviewing engineering systems, operational procedures and project documentation to determine whether safety arrangements were adequate, properly implemented and consistent with accepted engineering practice.
